 MM RACING KART CHALLENGE - THIS IS A PROPOSED EVENT AND IS NOT CURRENTLY ACTIVE

MM Racing is in the process of developing the, "MM Racing Kart Challenge" where you race for more than just points.  Compete in eight (8) out of twelve (12) Series Day races to earn points toward the Series Championship as well as each race you have a chance to win trophies prizes, gift certificates and more.

Read on to see how it all works? 

  • Register: $10 Track Pit Pass (paid to the hosting track, so fees may vary), $20 Track Race Fee (paid to the hosting track, so fees may vary), $20 MM Racing Kart Challenge Fee (used for trophies, prizes and end of season awards party.  e.g. Typical race will cost $50.
  • Divisions: Two (2) divisions:
    • Sr. Super Sportsman (Heavy)
      • Driver Requirement: Age 15 and older
      • Brakes: No front brakes
      • Engine:
        • Airbox: 2-Hole Required
        • Clutch: No axel clutches
        • Exhaust: RLV SSX-V #7548 (See fig. 554.3) If hole exists in pipe for EGT sensor, EGT sensor probe must be in place
        • Manufacturer: Yamaha, only heads with OEM casting "Yamaha" and cylinders with Y3 or Y4 and 787 are legal
      • Fuel: of a 98 octane
      • Oil: Blend or Castor (4oz min to 8oz max per gallon)
      • Tires: Open brand, compound and size (5" tires)
      • Weight: 360 lbs.
    • TAG
      • Driver Requirement: Age 15 and older
      • Brakes: No front brakes
      • Engine:
        • Airbox: OPEN, but must be CIK or, RLV approved air box with two inlet tubes not to exceed 22.0 mm (+/- 1.0 mm) inside diameter and 95.0 mm minimum length. All CIK homologated KG and Freeline boxes with internal filters are legal and must remain as manufactured. All air boxes may not be modified although the rubber flange may be trimmed on the inside of the air box to the flange lip. Aftermarket internal foam air filters are allowed as long as no modification is made to the air box it’s self.
        • Carburetor: OEM as supplied from the engine manufacturer, jetting is open. Washers may be added to the stock needle jets for the purpose of tuning, must be the OEM needle jets. The way the throttle cable connects to the arm and the bracket that holds the cable are non‐tech, you must not modify the manifold or the carburetor. The arm, throttle shaft and butterfly are OEM with no modifications. The slide assembly is included in jetting but must retain OEM replacement parts. No button head screws in butterfly. Surface finish of venturi and bore must remain as manufactured. Butterfly type: Must be of original manufacture and stock.
        • Exhaust Pipe/ Silencer: Exhaust and silencers OEM as supplied by manufacturer. No plating or ceramic coatings permitted. Header and pipe: No interchange allowed. Pipe and header must be of original manufacture with no modifications. Exhaust system must start and complete race intact as intended for use by the manufacturer. Connector pipe where applicable must be round and of proper O.D. as to connect pipe to header as supplied by manufacturer. Connector pipe length non-tech unless otherwise specified. Addition of exhaust gas temperature lead and/or O2 sensor is legal, but hole must be plugged if either sensor is not used. No welding for repairs allowed
      • Fuel: of a 98 octane
      • Oil: Blend or Castor (4oz min to 8oz max per gallon)
      • Tires: Open brand, compound and size (5" tires)
      • Weight: TAG USA Rules
        • 350 lbs: PRD Fireball
        • 360 lbs: Motori Seven, Parilla Leopard, Rotax FR125 JR & SR
        • 370 lbs: Vortex TT
        • 380 lbs: Sonik TX125
        • 415 lbs: Biland, Comer 125
      • Other: Engines failing to start for the pre-final or final races using the integrated starter may be started using an alternative method but must move to the rear of the grid.
  • Heat Races - two (2): ten (10) laps each (may vary depending on host track)
  • Feature Race: twenty (20) laps (may vary depending on host track)
  • Starting Assignment:
    • Heat Race 1 - Random draw for Race starting position assignment
    • Heat Race 2 - Reverse starting position of Heat Race 1
    • Feature Race - Cumulative Heat Race finishes determine starting position
  • Points Distribution - Feature Race Finish:
    • 1st place - 200 points
    • 2nd place - 175 points
    • 3rd place - 155 points

    • NOTE: All drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for points.  Did Not Finish (DNF) drivers will be awarded points in order of which driver finished farther in the Feature Race.  Did Not Start (DNS) DNS drivers will be awarded points for last place. (All DNS will be awarded the position on where they stopped)
  • Points Distribution - Bonus for Number of Karts
    • Bonus points are awarded to each driver in the amount of the number of drivers who paid for the race 
    • NOTE: All drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for points
  • Prizes: Each Feature Race will have a 1st place prize and a prize that will be awarded to a random driver (all drivers who pay for the race, even if they do not race, are eligible for the random prize)
  • Feature Race Day Awards Example:
    • Situation: 10 drivers pay for the race; 8 finish the Feature Race; 1 driver DNFs; 1 driver DNS
    • Points Distribution: 8 drivers who finished are awarded their 1-8 point; DNF driver is awarded 9th place points; and DNS driver is awarded 10th place points.  All drivers are also awarded 10 Bonus points, due to 10 drivers paying for the race.  (1st place - 210 points, 2nd place 185 points, ..., DNS - 90 points.
